LCDEF BoardReady Institute (BRI)
ABOUT
The LCDEF’s BoardReady Institute (BRI) is a comprehensive, in-person program uniquely designed to prepare and position aspiring directors for boardroom success. There is no other programming of this scope focused on accelerating the preparation, development, and placement of highly credentialed leaders aspiring to serve at the highest levels of corporate governance.
With over 430 leaders engaged to date, BRI combines governance education with personalized development—including hands-on board preparation, immersive governance training, personalized coaching, and valuable in-person networking. The program is specifically tailored for new Executive Members who have not yet completed board-ready training.
Offered twice a year—in spring and summer—BRI's curriculum was originally developed in collaboration with the KPMG Board Leadership Center, the Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford Law School, Boardspan, and LCDA’s strategic partners such as Egon Zehnder, Heidrick & Struggles, and Diversified Search, to support candidates on their journey to and in the boardroom. Since then, our network of curriculum partners has expanded to include UC Hastings' Center for Business Law, Equilar, Diligent, Spencer Stuart, Goldman Sachs, Carlyle, AboveBoard, and many others.

Note: The process to get on a publicly traded or private company board can be lengthy and takes time and engagement on the part of the executive. The BRI does not guarantee a board seat, but it does provide executives with strategic advantages and LCDA and its foundation will remain committed to their boardroom success years after completion of the program.
